What Every Mother Should Know

Photography ยฉ Amanda Gordon

Look guys!!… I gotta get real for one second here.

I was recently asked to write an article showcasing some resourceful information for mothers.

I mean that’s legit ๐Ÿ˜

But here’s the thing… you all know how I operate. Between constantly fighting for quiet time to get into the zone, or…yeah that’s pretty much my struggle. #WritersLife ๐Ÿ˜

I wrote the article but, by the end of it… I felt like it wasn’t…right. Why? I over thought it.

Alright!

So…..

Here we are.

Starting over and … Being real!

Breastfeeding is legit the best thing you can do for your kids. However, that in itself can be a major struggle for some moms out there.

Why? Some mothers don’t produce any milk at all. Others, only a short supply and then … the ones who …just… can. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

For my first-born, I WAS that mother who could NOT and did NOT produce any milk at all. and believe me I tried.

My second, had four months worth of supply. Yay! ๐Ÿ˜

Thankfully, the feeding supply for each one after became longer spans… But still!

Not gonna lie. With all four kids, I relied on formula as a supplement. I like putting it in their baby cereal once they turn four months old. (Take note: make sure you know the best thickness when starting your baby off.)

Once you start adding those options into your babies diet they become more susceptible to weaning sooner. The longer you hold them off, the longer they nurse.

Oftentimes, We don’t have the right information to know what’s best for our child outside of breastfeeding.

Which got me thinking…

If only more people knew where to find helpful information about formula?

I mean, we’ve all been there:

  • Gassy
  • Indigestion
  • Colic
  • Constipation
  • Etc.

As a parent, we aren’t handed an instruction manual to our children’s lives, which means even these decisions can be straining at times.

So I ask…

How do you know what baby formula works for you and your baby?

You don’t… and you better believe that struggle is REAL!

Now…

Thanks to a team of researchers, you can find helpful information on each formula product all in one spot.

Bruh! ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ

If I had a one stop shop back then ๐Ÿ˜ฒ life would have been so much simpler.

Anyhoo…

The Simple Life

While these kiddos watch Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa  ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Mommy is making quite the once in a lifetime treat.

As you all know, I’m unemployed which makes creating memories with my little ones much, much, much harder to do. More often than not we are stuck home because we live in a place where there is nothing family friendly to do unless you want to spend a lot of money. We wanted to watch “Despicable Me 3” in theaters this past weekend, and  make it an awesome little family adventure, but things didn’t work out quite as we planned. ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ™„

Therefore,Honey bear and I went out on the town in hopes of hunting down the perfect caramel apple treat.  Epic fail!

With not so prompt service, and high costs, we had enough time to rethink our choice, and ended up with a new plan…. “Let’s go buy our own supplies and make it ourselves.” And so… We did!

Tada! Ladies and gents as seen in the article image, you saw the magic we created. Honey bear helped take apart the caramel parcels and mommy set EVERYTHNG up. While the goods warmed, we watched a movie.

For a little over $20 we were able to get all of our preferred fixings plus the ingrediants needed to make it ourselves. I’d say that’s much better then spending $8 on one Apple. โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ

I’d call this a win!!!

What you need:

  • Chocolate melting pot ( or small crockpot is fine)
  • Second crockpot (in order to melt chocolate the caramel seperatly)
  • Apples
  • Chocolate parcels
  • Caramel parcels
  • Bamboo sticks
  • Nuts ( optional: I prefer almonds)

Keep in mind that if you don’t already own the crockpot, you’ll spend more than $20. You can also use a steel bowl. Boil water in pan, and then place bowl over water on simmer. Make sure your using a pan that holds the bowl up properly.

Directions are pretty simple: wait for chocolate and caramel to melt, and roll the apples through it gently. Sprinkle nuts per liking and voila! Inexpensive summer treat. Well…๐Ÿค” more like a futuristic Halloween treat ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘Œ
