Growing Artists

One does not become an expert over night. That takes hard work and determination. Real progress comes in small steps. You wont see immediate results but over time, you will look back and see large levels of growth” #StuffRareSays

“The thing about having colleagues is: they keep you in check all while progressing right alongside with you.”

When I first started my blogging journey five years ago, a good friend of mine was also in what we could possibly call the beginning stages of his wood carving game. With positive encouragement sent back and forth, we both grew along the journey.
Each time my blogging game evolved, his wood carving game evolved too. With each dire moment caused by lack of creativity…
We fed off each other and bounced off each other’s work as well.

How did that work?

If I wasn’t posting…
Homeboy made sure to send me a photo of his latest work.
A healthy reminder that he’s on the grind, and where am I?

Vice versa.

Five years later, our friendship is still growing strong, and our works are too.

Guess now y’all understand the wood carver references.

I’m not going to sit here and speak on behalf of how amazing his work is, I am simply going to show you.

You can find him and more of his work on INSTAGRAM @lococobra_101

This gentleman does custom work, and DOES NOT waste time.
The right kind of guy to get the right kind of job done.

Either way, I was simply blown away by his latest piece that

This Week In Review

Word from the wise:

“Progressive is THEEE worst insurance company to go with. Your  insurance rates go up with every renewal, accidents or not. Which means, they are just there to take your money, not protect you. In fact, if you do get into an accident, your fault or not, they will also lowball your estimate that way  your left paying  for your repairs. I am starting  to understand why people have warned me not to go with them. “

Protect yourself by becoming educated on the best policies.

This week in review they win the award for!!!!!!!

Thorns And Roses

Summer is in full swing. My allergies are killen’ me, and It is too hot.

….. Might be time for a swim.

I have been struggling to find a good book to read for quite some time now. I mean, over a year kind of while.

It leaves me wondering, “Is it because WE writers write, that finding a good read becomes harder and harder the more OUR OWN writing evolves?”

I finally discovered a good book! One I really don’t want to put down.

You know, if I didn’t have all those little bambinos running around, pulling me away from it.

As a mom, I’m lucky if I get four chapters in before I have to put a book down. Oh the days when I could read a book in full within a 48 hour period.

Which leads me to my point: I like the book so much that all I can think of is reading it. Therefore, after a long work day yesterday, I am going to spend the rest of my Sunday reading this book,  and advancing far beyond the 7th chapter.

The book, “A Court Of Thorns And Roses” By Sarah J. Maas is spun on the faerie world. It is intriguing because the author doesn’t seem to be basing her storylines off of the cliché characters that we are all too familiar with. Something that is quite refreshing and new.

So far, the book is about a young woman named Feyre, 19, who makes an almost deadly mistake which impacts an ancient treaty. She is doomed to pay the price. Let’s see what happens next….

I wish I could give you more details, but I’d rather not offer any spoilers. However, if your interested in reading along with me, feel free to head over to Amazon and grab your copy today.

With that said, I shall be dipping out. Join me this week as I intend to cover the “13 Reasons Why” series once again, and much more.

Did I just sound like a sales person???

Welcome to the World

I’m glad to be home.

We had made an arrangement to go home after having baby, but they ended up not following through with the plan, meaning I was stuck in a hospital overnight for 24 hours  It’s a sad day in reality when hospital professionals think your better off in a room with a newborn alone without their daddy. I was stuck inside the triage room…OVERNIGHT!  This is not an actual labor room. It is a tiny cramped room, with no furniture, and lots of discomfort.  it was unfortunate.

No nurse can take care of me like my Jay. the only thing staying in the hospital did was postpone my healing.

Thank GAWD we are back home.

I had a quick labor. Took two hours, and everything went great, and now I’m onto my next stage. MY biggest accomplishment I’d like to acknowledge is I managed to complete the #NaNoWriMo challenge with all of this going on 😉

This may serve to be my shortest post yet. I’d like to welcome home my fourth baby. Dahlia Rayne.
